The
Geilenkirchen Elementary School's Information Center has
over 11,000 books in the collection, including a Leveled-Library,
over 400 videos, a reference section, as well as a staff professional
library and parent center. All grades have regularly scheduled
library class, and books can be checked out at end of class, recess,
lunchtime, or with a pass from the classroom teacher. The classroom
teacher may also have a scheduled time for the entire class to
check out books. Students, Staff and Parents may also check out
books from 08:00 to 08:30 and 2:45 to 3:20 during the school week.
Parents are encouraged to use our library. Our library is automated
with Library World
on 12 computers to locate all cataloged materials. We have Internet
access as well as site licensed programs to stimulate the learning
process. We have over 2,400 Reading
Counts** quizzes that cover all reading levels of our students.
We encourage you and your child or children to take full advantage
of these opportunities in order to stimulate interest and enthusiasm
in reading for both pleasure and fun. |
